IMPROVING ORGANIC FERTILIZER PERFORMANCE TO OVERCOME ATTACK OF PLANT PESTS AND INCREASE YIELD IN ORGANIC AGRICULTURE (Dr. Ir. Rukmowati Brotodjoyo dan Ir. Dyah Arbiwati, MP)
Research in the second year was conducted to examine the appropriate dose of granular organic fertilizer “KayaSi” for growth and yield of red onion, sweet corn and hybrid corn planted in polybags. The results showed that red onion treated with organic fertilizer dose 10-30 ton/ha significantly had more leaves, higher yield, higher diameter than those treated with inorganic fertilizer. However, sweet corn and hybrid corn treated with inorganic fertilizer resulted in significantly higher plant, more leaves and higher yield than those treated with granular organic fertilizer with dose 10-30 ton/ha. It can be concluded that granular organic fertilizer dose 10-30 ton/ha was appropriate for red onion cultivation but not for sweet corn or hybrid corn cultivation
